Association of Recovery Community Organizations
Executive Directors Leadership Academy

The Association of Recovery Community Organizations at Faces & Voices of Recovery hosted the first Executive Directors Leadership Academy in Detroit, Michigan on October 21-23, 2011. The Academy provided executive directors and board chairs a chance to:

  • Learn about current trends, challenges, and promising practices in nonprofit leadership and development;
  • Learn how to improve the effectiveness of relationships with staff, volunteers, and other key constituencies;
  • Explore effective strategies for influencing public policy;
  • Engage in networking and support—becoming part of a national network of recovery community organization leaders in an ongoing learning group/community of practice;
  • Use peer groups to address the complex problems facing their organizations; and
  • Develop a personal action plan to maximize and fulfill leadership potential.

ARCO 2011 Participants

Thanks to the Detroit Recovery Project for hosting the Leadership Academy!
