Addiction Treatment and Recovery Caucus

Congressional Caucus on Addiction, Treatment and Recovery
Help Us Reach Our Goal This Year!

Faces & Voices of Recovery and allied organizations around the country have set a goal of enlisting one-third of the members of the US House of Representatives in the Congressional Caucus on Addiction, Treatment and Recovery by the end of this year. We're getting there, but we need your help to reach our goal!

To date, 72 have joined, only 73 more to go! Thanks to the many people who have already contacted their Representatives.

About the Caucus: Rep. Jim Ramstad (R-MN), in recovery from alcoholism and a leading advocate for recovery, and Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), a strong ally of addiction recovery and treatment, joined forces to launch a groundbreaking, bi-partisan caucus to bring members of the House together to focus attention on their shared interest and build support for policies that will support addiction recovery.

What You Can Do:
1. Check the list below to find out if your Representative has joined. (The names of Representatives who have joined are in bold.)
2. If your Representative has joined, please thank him or her and offer to serve as a resource.
3. If your Representative has not joined, please ask him or her to join today! Organize a campaign of constituents to call or e-mail and ask him or her to join the Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus. Let your elected officials know that you and other people in the recovery community can offer your knowledge and expertise to the caucus. (See the talking points for emails or telephone calls at below!)
4. Where to write or call: Go to http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml for a list of all members of the House. You can call the Capitol Switchboard at 202.224.3121 and ask for the office of your US Representative.
5. If you've already contacted your Representative and he or she hasn't joined yet, call or email back today and ask for a commitment to join the Caucus.
6. Forward this Action Alert to your friends and neighbors today.
