The Joel Hernandez Voice of the Recovery Community Award
The Joel Hernandez Voice of the Recovery Community Award was established in 2008 to recognize one local, state or regional recovery community organization for its success in assessing the specific needs of their community and carrying out a vision and mission of mobilizing resources within and outside the recovery community to increase the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
The recovery community organization chosen will be recognized with a $2000 award and honored at The Joel Hernandez Voice of the Recovery Community Award reception in early summer in Washington, DC.
The name of the honored organization will be announced publicly two months before the reception and a representative from the organization will attend the award reception in Washington, DC, at Faces & Voices of Recovery’s expense. Faces & Voices of Recovery will work within the community of the honored organization to garner press attention and focus on the organization, its mission and accomplishments.
