Training: 2009 Recovery Advocacy Teleconference Series

This year Faces & Voices of Recovery is hosting four recovery advocacy teleconferences to help you hone your skills. These one-hour interactive teleconferences will give you useful information and a chance to ask our experts questions. After you register, you will receive a toll-free number to call in and listen to the teleconference and a PowerPoint presentation before the teleconference.

All teleconferences are recorded so that if you miss one, you can listen online. If you aren't able to make our next two, please let us know and we'll send you a link to the recorded teleconference once it's available. We will also be posting additional background information and resources for each session online!

Young People in Recovery: Recovery Schools and other Supports

There are a growing number of opportunities for young people in recovery to find support in their community. They are speaking out about their recovery experiences and participating in Innovative peer-to-peer supports; sober social activities and recovery high schools and colleges. Learn about what it means to be a young person in recovery and the supports that are helping youth sustain their recovery.

  • Greg Williams, Connecticut Turning to Youth and Families (CTYF)
  • Monique Bourgeois, Association of Recovery Schools
  • Lora Passetti, Chestnut Health Systems

Greg Williams is Co-Director of Connecticut Turning to Youth and Families and a young person in long-term recovery from drugs and alcohol since the age of 17.

Monique Bourgeois is the Executive Director of the Association of Recovery Schools.
