We are very grateful to this year’s sponsors for supporting America Honors Recovery. Sponsors are listed in the program. Faces & Voices has established an award that will be given starting in 2012 in the name of our founding board chair, Lisa Mojer-Torres. Pictures from the event can be viewed here. View a webcast of the program and interviews of the awardees by clicking here and selecting America Honors Recovery as the category. We look forward to seeing you in 2012.

America Honors Recovery is the recovery community’s annual awards event to recognize the over 20 million Americans in recovery and recovery community organizations.

Sponsored by Faces & Voices of Recovery and the Hazelden Foundation’s Center for Public Advocacy, the event features the extraordinary contributions of the country’s most influential recovery community leaders to the nationwide effort to promote the reality of recovery from addiction. Leaders in business, government, and the media will also participate.

America Honors Recovery salutes the legacies of two dynamic recovery trailblazers who dedicated their lives to removing barriers for those individuals and families affected by addiction: Johnson Institute founder, Dr. Vernon E. Johnson, and recovery advocate, Joel Hernandez.

Congratulations to the 2011 America Honors Recovery honorees. They are:

The Joel Hernandez Award: The McShin Foundation, Richmond, VA

The Vernon Johnson Award: Mike Barry, People Advocating Recovery, Kentucky; Jim Gillen, Anchor Recovery Community Center, Rhode Island; and Roland Lamb, Office of Addiction Services, Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health, Pennsylvania.

Learn more about the awardees here.

The event acknowledges the significant contributions of the U.S. Congressional Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus. The Caucus has been a vital forum to inform, educate and raise awareness about addiction and recovery in the U.S. Congress. We thank the leadership of the caucus for their participation in this year's event.
