About Us

Faces & Voices thanks you for joining us in celebrating America Honors Recovery in 2012.

We are very grateful to this year's sponsors for their support. You can check out video vignettes from the event below and view pictures here. View a webcast of the program and interviews of the awardees by clicking here and selecting 2012 America Honors Recovery as the category. We look forward to seeing you in 2013.

Thank you for joining us in recognizing the contributions of these outstanding individuals and organizations and to our guest speakers and presenters: Pat O'Brien; National Institute on Drug Abuse Director Nora Volkow; Office of National Drug Control Policy Deputy Director Benjamin Tucker; and former Congressman Patrick Kennedy. We look forward to seeing you in 2013!

America Honors Recovery is the recovery community's annual awards event to recognize the over 20 million Americans in recovery and recovery community organizations.

Sponsored by Faces & Voices of Recovery and the Hazelden Foundation's Center for Public Advocacy, the event features the extraordinary contributions of the country's most influential recovery community leaders to the nationwide effort to promote the reality of recovery from addiction. Leaders in business, government, and the media will also participate.

America Honors Recovery salutes the legacies of two dynamic recovery trailblazers who dedicated their lives to removing barriers for individuals and families affected by addiction - Johnson Institute founder, Dr. Vernon E. Johnson, and recovery advocate, Joel Hernandez.

In 2011, Faces & Voices established a special award in the name of its founding board chair, Lisa Mojer-Torres.

Congratulations to the 2012 America Honors Recovery honorees. They are:

The Joel Hernandez Award: Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR), Boston, Massachusetts

The Vernon Johnson Award:

The Lisa Mojer-Torres Award: Jeff Blodgett, Founding Director, Wellstone Action - St. Paul, Minnesota

Learn more about the awardees here.

The event acknowledges the significant contributions of the U.S. Congressional Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus. The Caucus has been a vital forum to inform, educate and raise awareness about addiction and recovery in the U.S. Congress. We thank the leadership of the caucus for their participation in this year's event.
