2010 National Family Dialogue Teleconference Series
In March of 2009, family members of youth with substance use addiction, along with representatives from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Georgetown University gathered together in Washington DC. This historic National Family Dialogue (NFD) brought together 65 members of families of youth impacted by the disease of addiction, representing 34 states and four tribal nations. Family members met with the goal of looking at the substance abuse treatment and recovery system as it is, sharing their experiences and challenges, as well as their suggestions on how to meet those challenges. Educating families was one of the priorities identified by the NFD family members. Providing free educational webinar teleconferences helps to further the purpose and goals of the NFD. If you would like to know more about this group or to become involved, please contact Sharon Smith.
National Family Dialogue partnered with Faces & Voices to develop the teleconferences below. You can listen, following along with the PowerPoint presentation and downloading any additional handouts and materials.
