The Solano Prevention and Recovery Alliance (SPRA) and the Fighting Back Partnership join in sponsoring the Sixth Annual Rally and Barbeque to celebrate National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.

Description:

Sixth Annual Recovery Rally
Description:
This annual event celebrates recovery from substance addiction and is presented by Advocates for Recovery, a non-profit advocacy group, in partnership with Denver Drug Strategy Commission (within Denver Dept. of Human Services). The event is part of the National Rally for Recovery. The event begins with a march from a local AA clubhouse to City Park, about 6 blocks. Music, food and entertainment are provided at the Rally, and speakers from various facets of life in Denver will speak on the value of recovery.

The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) is hosting Recovery Walks!, their 8th Annual Walk for Recovery from Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Bushnell Park in Hartford. The walk is part of the 18th annual observance of National Alcohol and Drug Recovery Month, a nationwide celebration of those in recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. This year CCAR will also be part of Rally for Recovery, where more than 40 communities across the United States will demonstrate that millions of Americans in long-term recovery are leading normal, productive lives. We strive to mobilize people to support policies that encourage and improve access to recovery and remove barriers to long-term recovery. CCAR’s Recovery Walks! includes live musical entertainment, children's activities and stories of recovery beginning at 10:00 am with the 3-mile walk beginning at 12:00 noon. This year our guest speaker will be songwriter/vocalist Paul Williams.
