Event: Rally for Recovery! 2009

2008’s Rally for Recovery hub event in St. Louis, Missouri. Over 40,000 people in recovery, family members, friends and allies came together at over 60 events across the country to speak out and take action for recovery.

Join recovery advocates and allies across the country on September 12, 2009 to Rally for Recovery! as part of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

In 2009 the Faces & Voices Rally for Recovery! “hub” was at the Brooklyn Bridge Recovery Rally on September 12 in New York City.  We partnered with A&E Network, Recovery Month Planning Partners, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America on this event.   Organizations called in from around the country to what was a historic number of people rallying for recovery nationally.

We also partnered with InTheRooms and recovery advocates in Miami, FL for the first-ever walk, rally and concert for Recovery.  Find out more here.

The Recovery Delegate program, where one person is selected from each state and the District of Columbia, continued this year!

Selection committees have been set up in each state and include a Faces & Voices representative. They chose two candidates, the final choice was made by A&E.

Faces & Voices is excited to join with A&E Network, NCADD, Partnership for a Drug-Free America, National Association of State Alcohol & Drug Abuse Directors and the Recovery Month Planning Partners in the Second Annual Recovery Delegate Program. Delegates were honored at the September 12, 2009 Recovery Rally in New York City
