Congress acts on ban on federal financial aid to students with drug convictions
On February 1st, the House of Representatives passed The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, which includes partial repeal of the ban. When President Bush signs the bill into law, Faces & Voices will be producing a flyer that recovery advocates can use to inform individuals with prior drug convictions about their rights to financial aid when going back to school.

- More Recovery Radio! Recovery Road, a talk show about addiction and recovery, is on the air every Sunday at 4:00pm EST in Boston. Recovery Road is a weekly show on WRKO co-hosted by 25-year radio veteran and more.
- Carrick Forbes, whose family was featured in the Dateline NBC show "Saving Carrick" last year, recently updated viewers about her life and talks about her recovery advocacy and Faces & Voices of Recovery.
- BACK ON TRACK, a coalition of citizens, treatment agencies, and community leaders in Lancaster County, Nebraska, is working to remove the barriers that prevent people from getting treatment for substance use disorders. They have put together some great materials including posters and radio spots for their campaign to remove barriers so that more people can get their lives Back on Track.
- Faces & Voices of Recovery is holding a workshop about the recovery community and recovery advocacy at the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America's (CADCA) National Leadership Forum on February 14-16th in Washington, DC.
