Recovery in the Workplace

Are you or do you know an employer who is recovery friendly? We are looking for employers who would be willing to be interviewed on the topic of people in recovery in the workplace along with two or three of their employees.

Chris Iverson, MBA, wrote Roots of America in Recovery: Stories of Strength, Hope, Experience and Success in the Workplace, an essay that includes a brief narrative and excerpts from several interviews Chris conducted three years ago at Venturetech in Houston, Texas. Venturetech’s owner, Larry Keast, is sympathetic to recovery issues in the workplace and created a website, www.americainrecovery.org, dedicated to spreading the work that recovering individuals can make quality contributions in the workplace.

Chris is putting together a series of articles that will be posted on the Faces & voices web site about recovery in the workplace that may eventually be turned into a book. If you have any ideas and/or suggestions about recovery-friendly employers for Chris to interview, please email pat.taylor@verizon.net. Thanks!
