Medication Assisted Recovery
The availability of medications like burpenorphine, methadone and Vivitrol for people seeking recovery from addiction in doctor’s offices as well as treatment centers has prompted some innovative work to support people newly in recovery using those medications. The Medication Assisted Recovery Services Project (MARS Project) is run by the National Alliance for Methadone Advocates with a grant from the federal government’s Recovery Community Services Program. The Maine Alliance for Addiction Recovery (MAAR) is a partner in an Advancing Recovery project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The RASE Project in Central Pennsylvania is working through Pennsylvania’s Health Choices Initiative.
