Jared Hess is leaving Faces & Voices to accept an exciting position as Legislative Assistant in the Governmental Affairs Office at the American Bar Association later this month. He's played an invaluable role in our growth and development over the past year and will be missed. Thanks so much to Jared for his service and willingness to share his story of long-term recovery in the media and at events such as the Recovery Month press conference.

Recovery advocates in South Carolina took the case for repeal of the state's Alcohol Exclusion Law to legislators last month and will be holding their annual statewide conference on May 24, where Faces & Voices National Field Director Tom Coderre, will be one of the speakers.

May 2 Recovery Symposium in Philadelphia:  Over 250 representatives from the recovery community, public and private addiction treatment providers, governmental agencies and others gathered for "Aligning Concepts, Practice and Contexts to Promote Long-Term Recovery: An Action Plan." Here's a link to many of the materials that were distributed at the meeting, including the outlines for a Science of Recovery research agenda.
