Rally for Recovery 2008

On September 20, as part of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, recovery community organizations around the country will participate in Rally for Recovery! at over 80 events. At this year's hub event, Hands Across the Bridge at Chain of Rocks Bridge in St. Louis, Missouri, we will be releasing The Recovery Bill of Rights.

This statement of the principle that all Americans have a right to recover from addiction to alcohol and other drugs was developed and adopted by Faces & Voices of Recovery's board of directors and has been endorsed by allied national organizations. We call on all Americans and our elected officials to take action to build communities of recovery that will support the more than 22 million Americans and their families still needing help and to end discrimination facing millions in long-term recovery. Find out more about The Recovery Bill of Rights.

The first was just published. Learn more...

Check out video footage of the Recovery Wellness Room and an interview with Faces & Voices' National Field Director, Tom Coderre. Learn more...

Insurance Equity Update

Mark your calendars! September 10 will be the final call-in day to end insurance discrimination facing people with addiction and mental illness and on September 17 there will be a rally on Capitol Hill as part of our final push for insurance equity. When Congress returns from its recess on September 8, there will just be a few short days for final action on the compromise bill that has been negotiated between the House and the Senate.
