Rally for Recovery! and Recovery Month

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s groundbreaking Rally for Recovery! and 20th anniversary of Recovery Month activities around the country. It was a tremendous outpouring of recovery all across the country. Check out some of the pictures, flyers and video footage from events. And take a minute to watch the 2009 Recovery Month press conference. where the results of the National Survey on Drug Use and Health were released and speakers included Jim Gillen of RI Cares and Neil Kaltenecker of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse, 2009 Recovery Delegates to A&E’s Brooklyn Bridge Recovery Rally. Growing numbers of recovery community organizations and allies are producing print and on-line Recovery Resource Guides, putting together in one handy place information about all of the resources in the community to support long-term recovery. The Recovery Alliance of El Paso’s Recovery Resource Guide includes alternative housing and transitional living resources; 12-Step and Faith-based Recovery Resources (English and Spanish); Social and Family Services; informational directories and much more. Copies of HBO’s “Addiction” A Viewer’s Guide are available from Faces & Voices of Recovery in quantities of 100. The viewer's guide is designed to facilitate group discussion about the issues raised in HBO’s ADDICTION films. Email us with your name, address and the number of copies that you would like.

The Role of Partnership in Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care: The Philadelphia Experience by Roland Lamb, Arthur Evans and William White describes the partnerships and strategies that are being used to promote long-term recovery in Philadelphia.

National Reentry Resource Center is a new initiative that provides education, training, and technical assistance to states, tribes, territories, local governments, service providers, nonprofit organizations, and corrections agencies working on prisoner reentry. The Center is a project of the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center and has a wealth of information and resources on reentry.
