RECOVERY RESOURCE GUIDES

Growing numbers of recovery community organizations and allies are producing print and on-line Recovery Resource Guides, putting together in one handy place information about all of the resources in the community to support long-term recovery. The Recovery Alliance of El Paso’s Recovery Resource Guide includes alternative housing and transitional living resources; 12-Step and Faith-based Recovery Resources (English and Spanish); Social and Family Services; informational directories and much more. Foundation for Recovery’s Southern Nevada Recovery Resource Directory includes information on 12-Step Meeting Friendly Spaces; Support Groups; Hotlines and Helplines; Veteran Resources & Services and much more including recovery resources specific for the Spanish-speaking; Native American and Asian communities.
Oklahoma Citizen Advocates for Recovery and Treatment Association (OCARTA)’s Recovery ToolKit features information on a wide range of recovery resources in Oklahoma.

Want information to put in your toolkit? A new article by Rhonda Johnson, Nelson Martin, Timothy Sheahan, Fred Way, and William White, Recovery Resource Mapping: Results of a Philadelphia Recovery Home Survey, is a great resource for mapping, understanding and planning recovery-friendly communities. You can use the examples above and the Recovery Resource Mapping survey information to identify the Recovery Resources in your community as well as the recovery resources that are needed.
