Check out some terrific publications and organizing updates from recovery community organizations around the country. Friends of Recovery New York’s February 2, 2010 Legislative Day flyer; Nebraska Recovery Network’s Recovery Road; Message Carriers’ The Message; and Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery’s (CCAR) Recovery Friendly Business Coalition formed to bring together individuals in the Connecticut business community, community members, and service providers to learn about effective programs, services and strategies for employers who hire and/or employ persons in recovery.

Here’s information on a special meeting of the Recovery Friendly Business Coalition at CCAR’s Hartford Recovery Community Center January 27, 2010 to give you an idea of how CCAR is bringing people together to develop opportunities for employment.
John Hamilton, LMFT, LADC, CEO of Regional Network of Programs is a non-profit behavioral health agency leader and he will given an extended presentation on what it means to be a recovery-friendly business. The meeting will include an opportunity for participants to share resources and information about their businesses and work; hear from Mr. Hamilton and have a conversation with him.
