Central East Board of Directors Representative: Mike Barry
Mike is President of People Advocating Recovery (PAR), a founding board member of Addiction Recovery Advocates of Kentuckiana (ARAK), coordinator of the Angel Programs at The Healing Place and executive director of Beacon House Transitional Living.
I'm a person in long term recovery which means I have not used alcohol or drugs since 1994. My goal as the leader of a statewide advocacy group in Kentucky is to remove barriers to long term recovery as well as work to remove the stigma and discrimination associated with substance use disorders. My long term recovery has given me a new purpose and a new direction in my life. Today I join with millions of others as we pass on a message of help, hope, and healing.
