Mountain West Regional Representative: Tonya Wheeler
Tonya is in long-term recovery from methamphetamine addiction and is passionate about sharing her recovery. She is the President of Advocates for Recovery – Colorado, a grassroots organization dedicated to making recovery from addiction visible as a positive, attainable goal. Tonya was one of the founding members of Advocates for Recovery and spends much of her time working with others in her community training them to be recovery advocates.
Tonya is sought after as a speaker at conferences and in the media for sharing what 18 years of sobriety has meant to her and her family. She has shared her recovery story with community leaders, treatment providers, probation and parole officers, child welfare case workers, and health care professionals nationally and in Denver.
Tonya serves as a Commissioner on the Denver Drug Strategy Commission, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Mountain West ATTC. Tonya works as a Certified Addictions Counselor – Level III, and has worked in the substance abuse field for over 16 years.

Agenda:
Speakers from the recovery community and leaders in Utah that have been advocates for recovery. The speaker of the House will also address the crowd.
Description:
We meet at the State Capitol in the Rotunda so all of the Utah Legislators can hear us. We have seven different speakers from 11 am to noon. We'll have a "register to vote" table, find your legislator table and one table for information about USARA. We will have between 300 - 500 attendees. We've created our own note cards that individuals can write a message to their legislator(s) and they will be hand delivered by runners the day of the Rally.
