Myrna Ulrich
Cross Plains, WI

My name is Myrna, and I am the Mother of a recovering meth addict. My daughter is twenty two years old! It was a year ago this month, on Memorial Day, when I got the "Call" from California that my grandsons, her boys, ages 2 and 5, were removed from their home by Child Protection Services, due to neglect on her part and the father's! I was not aware at the time that my daughter and her husband were heavy drug users! I have always been in contact with them, since I live and in Wisconsin and she lives in Los Angeles, California. It tore my family apart! The worst thing I had to do as a parent, was when she called here in Wisconsin, asking for help, and if I COULD please get her an attorney. She said she was "so sorry, and wanted her boys back"! I said: "Lisa I love you are my daughter, please turn yourself in" for YOU, and the boys, she did not! I got various call from her drug addicted friends, and we turned them away. Finally I got word that she had been arrested on June 2, 2004, and taken to Los Angeles County.

Currently, she is still in rehab and hopes to leave by October. Her plans are to continue her sobriety, get full custody of the boys, and get her own home/apt, finish her schooling, which is no easy task, because she is going to divorce her husband who has not reached his bottom yet! With a lot of love and support from her group and my self and family members she and the boys will have a great future!
